Furnace

Furnace WI held a meeting on April 1. The meeting opened with Judy Lee saying a pray in memory of Wendy Brown who passed away on March 5. Judy also commented it was lovely too see how many of our members attended Wendy’s funeral at the Greenfield Chapel. Five of our members have birthdays this month, all were wished a happy birthday and best wishes. Ladies who attended the Creative Craft brought some of their items to show us their work; a really enjoyable day enjoyed by all who attended. A visit to Clyne Gardens followed by a meal at the Woodmans Restaurant will be held on May 20. Please bring a cheque for lunch and coach to the next meeting. Afternoon Tea Country and Western Theme at the Selwyn Samuel Centre on the July 16 organised by the Illtyd Group. Tickets, priced £8.50, on sale next month. On July 20 in Carmarthen Saint David’s Hall is the 2019 WI show. The theme this year is Love Your Library . 1. Cookery 2- literature, 3- Art, 4-Crafts Lots of interest and entries. The picture quiz was won by Pamela Robinson. Competition was for hts depicting a song. 1st. Mandy Howels; 2nd Susan Lloyd; 2nd Anne Thomas. The next meeting is on May 13.
