ANOTHER public meeting being held in Llanelli next week as part of a community drive to rid the Seaside and Glanymor area of antisocial behaviour.

Billed as the Glanymor Community Public Meeting – Have Your Say, the meeting will be on Monday at 6.30pm at the Seaside Sports and Social Club.

County councillors, town councillors, housing associations, council housing officers and police representatives have all been invited to attend.

Amanda Carter, Seaside resident and one of the organisers, said: “This will be the follow-up community public meeting to the one which was held on April 1 which more than 100 people attended.

“Even though we have had a lot of police raids lately, the community are still living in fear and don’t know what’s going to happen next.

“They are waiting for it to start all over again. The individuals involved in certain drugs and antisocial behaviour are still residents in the affected areas.

“The local children’s park is a worry as we don’t want repeated incidents like we have had for the

past few years. Children and their families should be allowed to enjoy the open spaces and our elderly should be allowed to live their lives in peace.”

Last week, Llanelli MP Nia Griffith organised another forum to discuss Seaside issues at the Selwyn Samuel Centre.

She said: “Seaside is a very stable and close-knit community where residents take a real pride in their area.

“It is totally unacceptable that a handful of individuals should be allowed to make their neighbours lives a misery.

“We will not tolerate antisocial behaviour in Seaside.” CATHOLIC: Lady Star of the Sea, Burry Port,
