Fam­ily run­ners en­joy some fun in the sun

FOUR­TEEN YEAR OLD Archie Dilks brought home a sur­prise bronze medal from Cyprus when he took part in a triathlon there.

Hol­i­day­ing with his par­ents, both mem­bers of St Clears-based Taf Run­ning and Ori­en­teer­ing Team (TROTs), Archie and his fa­ther Jim took part in the Ocean Lava Triathlon in Paphos.

Archie placed third in the ju­nior race and fin­ished three min­utes ahead of his fa­ther, who was us­ing the race as prepa­ra­tion for Iron­man Wales in Tenby later this year.

Mean­while, TROTs club coach Aled Jones-Davies led nine of his club­mates home in the Teifi Ten mile race in Lam­peter, fin­ish­ing 11th in 64 min­utes 40 sec­onds.

Half a minute and two places be­hind him, Kevin Grif­fiths won the M50 cat­e­gory.

Also com­plet­ing the race were fel­low TROTS Vin­cent Bai­ley 29th; Steve Dawson 33rd; Ju­lian Lewis 37th; Lindy Eynon (2nd F45) 45th; Kevin Jenk­ins 47th; Keith Pow­ell 67th; Mair Mor­gan 102nd; and Sally Martin 105th.
