U15s warm up for final

-

AFTER a convincing 5-1 win against Pontarddulais U15s in midweek, Ammanford U15s travelled to play Johnstown for another league game, good preparation for their MJ Bush Cup final this Saturday.

The visitors had a skeleton squad of just 11 but produced another sublime display of football to win 9-2, with seven scorers contributing over the two games.

Standout players Cian Williams and Kellen Edwards led the charge, with frontman Williams bagging four goals and attacking defender Edwards one plus a couple of assists.

The midfield of Callum Thomas, Harri Jones and Harry Thomas controlled the play in both games, and wing men Osian Davies, Rhydian Davies and Scott Pugh all got on the score sheet with goals and assists and continued to trouble the Johnstown defence.

Ammanford passed the ball around with ease and at 5-1 up at half-time were well in control.

Centre-halves Jac Chapman and Iestyn Richards controlled the back line well, releasing Logan Davies and Kellen Edwards to go on runs.

Richards played a big part and scored two headers from set-piece moves from Harry Thomas, keeper Kieran Brook was again razor sharp, and skipper Chapman led by example.

This Saturday Ammanford U15s meet Seaside, who are joint top of the league with Ammanford, in the cup final at Stebonheath (10am).
