Choir gets whole place rocking in debut concert

-

LLANELLI’S brand new choir, Valley Rock Voices, performed their debut concert at The Stradey Park Hotel to a sell-out audience of nearly 400 people.

Special guests included The Hat and the Fiddle Band, who rocked the house with their lively mix of folk and country tunes, and the sublime Mumbles A Cappella Choir.

Valley Rock Voices had the whole place rocking with a heady mix of pop and rock songs that had been arranged especially for choir and their own live rock band by musical director Cerys LlewellynBevan.

The audience was treated to music by Coldplay, The Bee Gees, and Lady Gaga and many more foot-tapping favourites. It didn’t take long to get the audience to their feet as they danced and sang along with 80 singers all dressed glamorously in red.

The choir was treated to a spontaneous standing ovation at the end of their final song as the whole room leapt to their feet to applaud what was a truly spectacular evening.

The choir presented Hannah Beadsworth, from the charity MiHC, Music in Hospitals and Care, with a cheque for more than £2,000 that members had raised from singing in St David’s Shopping Centre, Cardiff, at Christmas.

Valley Rock Voices rehearse at The Stradey Park Hotel every Tuesday from 7pm to 9pm during term time.

They are taking on new members and there is no audition.
