No risk in firm’s race deal

ORGANISERS of the award-winning Llanelli Half Marathon reach new heights as they announce local company Risk Kitchen as headline sponsor for 2020.

A relatively new company, Llanellibased Risk Kitchen is run by husband and wife team Jessica Tyrrell and Gary Evans.

Established in January 2017, they went onto set up offices in August last year after becoming a directly authorised brokerage.

Both Gary and Jessica are qualified chartered insurance brokers and between them have 32 years experience in the field. Jessica, a mum of two, took the brave step to set up Risk Kitchen with husband Gary, after working in the industry since leaving university.

She said: “It was a big decision to take but an easy one, after experiencing some difficult circumstances personally, I felt my life took a turning point and it was at that moment, I decided that this is what we needed to do. I took inspiration from my dad who also ran his own brokerage and had the belief in me to go it alone, so that’s what we did.

“Having worked alongside the team at Front Runner Events on their race in Swansea I had a good working relationship already established. I like the ethos of the team, how they manage their events, and the relationships they have with local businesses.”

The Llanellli Half Marathon was taken over by Front Runner Events in 2016. Front Runner Events also organise the JCP Swansea Half Marathon, Great Welsh Marathon and Half Marathon.
