Middleton Memories To celebrate national and local Community History Month, the Regency Restoratio­n Project, in collaborat­ion with People’s Collection Wales, is hosting Middleton Memories this month at the National Botanic Garden of Wales. Did your grandparen­t live or work on the estate? Are you a former volunteer? Do you have any old photograph­s of the estate? If you have any stories or family tales about the estate, please go along and share them. Each person who submits a memory will be given a discount voucher for the garden’s restaurant. The dates are today, May 15, 22 and 29. All sessions will take place in the Oriel Yr Ardd Gallery. June 12 will be the opening day of the Middleton Memories exhibition and all those who submit memories will be invited to the opening.

Community council Gorslas Primary School is the venue for the next meeting of the Gorslas Community Council on May 13 at 7pm. There is an unfilled vacancy for someone to represent the Gorslas Ward on the council. Details are on the village notice board or look up the council’s website.

Side by Side This is a service provided by the Alzheimer’s Society in Ammanford supporting people with dementia to continue with the hobbies and pastimes they enjoy. If you could spare two hours per week and are looking for a way to help someone in our local area, then please contact Susan Morgan on 01269 597411. Plant sale The annual members and volunteers plant sale will be held at the National Botanic Garden of Wales on Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18. This will be the ninth annual sale with a variety of plants grown by members and volunteers of the garden. Plant donations and garden sundry are most welcome (e.g. unwanted garden presents, seeds, tools, baskets, aprons, etc). All proceeds go to the National Botanic Garden of Wales.
