MARATHON run­ners from Sarn He­len Run­ning Club have been in fine form.

David Thomas recorded a time of four hours 13 min­utes and 32 sec­onds in the Sch­nei­der Elec­tric Marathon de Paris, com­ing 26,538th out of an enor­mous field of 47,486 in­ter­na­tional run­ners.

The Paris race started at the foot of the Arc de Tri­om­phe and headed to­wards the Place de la Con­corde, Rue de Rivoli, the Opéra Garnier, Place de la Bastille, Bois de Vin­cennes and took in views of Notre Dame and the Eif­fel Tower.

On the same day, but closer to home, Car­wyn Davies was sixth in the OTT Trail Marathon with a time of 5:10:00.

This run, with an el­e­va­tion of 2,773 feet, was held in the Bre­con Bea­cons, tak­ing in Pen y Fan and head­ing over to Taly­bont Reser­voir for the fi­nal climb up Tor y Foel.

Sarn He­len kicked off its club race cal­en­dar with the pop­u­lar Teifi 10 mile race, start­ing and fin­ish­ing in Lam­peter.

The race was well at­tended, with 135 run­ners tak­ing part in un­sea­son­ably hot weather. Af­ter a route around the town, run­ners fol­lowed a scenic view along the Teifi Val­ley to Llan­fair Cly­do­gau, across the bridge and back through Cel­lan.

Sarn He­len had three run­ners in a field of more than 40,000 tak­ing part in this year’s Lon­don Marathon.

Nigel Davies recorded a time of 3:08:02, Jenny Caulkett fin­ished in 4:44:10 and she was closely fol­lowed by Pamela Carter with a time of 4:45:06.

On the same day, St­ef­fan Thomas par­tic­i­pated in the Ten­ovus 10k at the Na­tional Botanic Gar­den of Wales to raise money for cancer pa­tients and their fam­i­lies. He recorded a time of 42:07, while Nicola Wil­liams crossed the line in 53:48 and Elisha Jones in 59:46.

Marc Davies was 22nd in a time of 1:27:36 at the Gol­drush Cani­cross, while Rachel Stod­dart recorded ex­cel­lent times across three days com­pet­ing for the Wales team in the Canix Fur Na­tions event in Pem­brey.
