THOMAS STARS IN PARIS EVENT
MARATHON runners from Sarn Helen Running Club have been in fine form.
David Thomas recorded a time of four hours 13 minutes and 32 seconds in the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris, coming 26,538th out of an enormous field of 47,486 international runners.
The Paris race started at the foot of the Arc de Triomphe and headed towards the Place de la Concorde, Rue de Rivoli, the Opéra Garnier, Place de la Bastille, Bois de Vincennes and took in views of Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower.
On the same day, but closer to home, Carwyn Davies was sixth in the OTT Trail Marathon with a time of 5:10:00.
This run, with an elevation of 2,773 feet, was held in the Brecon Beacons, taking in Pen y Fan and heading over to Talybont Reservoir for the final climb up Tor y Foel.
Sarn Helen kicked off its club race calendar with the popular Teifi 10 mile race, starting and finishing in Lampeter.
The race was well attended, with 135 runners taking part in unseasonably hot weather. After a route around the town, runners followed a scenic view along the Teifi Valley to Llanfair Clydogau, across the bridge and back through Cellan.

Sarn Helen had three runners in a field of more than 40,000 taking part in this year’s London Marathon.
Nigel Davies recorded a time of 3:08:02, Jenny Caulkett finished in 4:44:10 and she was closely followed by Pamela Carter with a time of 4:45:06.
On the same day, Steffan Thomas participated in the Tenovus 10k at the National Botanic Garden of Wales to raise money for cancer patients and their families. He recorded a time of 42:07, while Nicola Williams crossed the line in 53:48 and Elisha Jones in 59:46.
Marc Davies was 22nd in a time of 1:27:36 at the Goldrush Canicross, while Rachel Stoddart recorded excellent times across three days competing for the Wales team in the Canix Fur Nations event in Pembrey.
