Volunteer plea to give support

A LLANELLI support group is looking for volunteers to help support people with mental health issues.

The appeal comes during Mental Health Awareness Week, and anyone who can offer their time is urged to get in touch.

Links and Combined Forces @LINKS is a mental health project based in Queen Victoria Road Llanelli.

Within the main Links scheme it provides support, activities and learning for those experienci­ng emotional wellbeing difficulti­es.

Michelle Mills, Combined Forces coordinato­r said: “Our bespoke Combined Forces Project for ex-service personnel offers welfare support, counsellin­g, telephone and befriendin­g services along with drop-in Naafi mornings which are held in Tumble, Llanelli, Carmarthen, Burry Port, Ammanford and upper Brynamman.

“Recently we held a veterans awareness day supported by the Llanelli Veterans Associatio­n.

“The day saw 106 attendees, 18 support agencies and eight speakers.”
