Vol­un­teer plea to give sup­port

A LLANELLI sup­port group is look­ing for vol­un­teers to help sup­port peo­ple with men­tal health is­sues.

The ap­peal comes dur­ing Men­tal Health Aware­ness Week, and any­one who can of­fer their time is urged to get in touch.

Links and Com­bined Forces @LINKS is a men­tal health project based in Queen Vic­to­ria Road Llanelli.

Within the main Links scheme it pro­vides sup­port, ac­tiv­i­ties and learn­ing for those ex­pe­ri­enc­ing emo­tional well­be­ing dif­fi­cul­ties.

Michelle Mills, Com­bined Forces co­or­di­na­tor said: “Our be­spoke Com­bined Forces Project for ex-ser­vice per­son­nel of­fers wel­fare sup­port, coun­selling, tele­phone and be­friend­ing ser­vices along with drop-in Naafi morn­ings which are held in Tum­ble, Llanelli, Car­marthen, Burry Port, Am­man­ford and up­per Bry­nam­man.

“Re­cently we held a vet­er­ans aware­ness day sup­ported by the Llanelli Vet­er­ans As­so­ci­a­tion.

“The day saw 106 at­ten­dees, 18 sup­port agen­cies and eight speak­ers.”
