Volunteer plea to give support
A LLANELLI support group is looking for volunteers to help support people with mental health issues.
The appeal comes during Mental Health Awareness Week, and anyone who can offer their time is urged to get in touch.
Links and Combined Forces @LINKS is a mental health project based in Queen Victoria Road Llanelli.
Within the main Links scheme it provides support, activities and learning for those experiencing emotional wellbeing difficulties.
Michelle Mills, Combined Forces coordinator said: “Our bespoke Combined Forces Project for ex-service personnel offers welfare support, counselling, telephone and befriending services along with drop-in Naafi mornings which are held in Tumble, Llanelli, Carmarthen, Burry Port, Ammanford and upper Brynamman.
“Recently we held a veterans awareness day supported by the Llanelli Veterans Association.
“The day saw 106 attendees, 18 support agencies and eight speakers.”
Anyone wishing to support someone with mental health issues or provide a telephone call or home visit to a veteran in their community can contact Michelle on 01554 757957 or [email protected] links.uk.net for details.
