Crown Court date set for man accused over fatal crash

A CARMARTHEN man will appear at Crown Court next month charged with causing the death of a taxi driver on the outskirts of the town on August 12 last year.

Peter Morgan Salmon died after a two-vehicle collision in the early hours along the A484 between Carmarthen and the village of Cwmffrwd.

Mr Salmon, aged 64 and from Kidwelly, had been driving a Toyota Avensis and sustained fatal injuries and died in hospital a short time later.

On Thursday, Gareth Thomas JamesAnder­son, aged 25, of Ystrad Drive, Johnstown, Carmarthen, appeared at Llanelli Magistrate­s’ Court to face a charge of causing death by dangerous driving. He entered no pleas at the hearing and the magistrate­s sent the case to Swansea Crown Court on Friday, June 7.
