Ail Gyfle A recent presentation of a cheque for £4,500 was made by Mr and Mrs Mansel Thomas on behalf of Ail Gyfle to Baba Gana, consultant urologist at Glangwili Hospital towards funding an advanced scanner in diagnosing prostatic and renal cancers. The total amount donated by Ail Gyfle to this unit now stands at £12,000. A further cheque for £4,500 was presented to consultant Sarah Hemington-Gorse and Jeremy Yarrow, consultant plastic and reconstructive surgeon at the Welsh Centre for Burns and Plastic Surgery Unit at Morriston Hospital to assist in the funding for a new operating theatre. The total amount donated to this specific unit over the past five years is £7,500. The presentation, on behalf of the committee, was made by Chairman Mr Ieuan Hughes accompanied by Gethin Davies. Thanks to everyone who is and was involved in this fundraising and, to date, £84,755 has been divided between various cancer treatment centres in South and West Wales. Diolch i bawb.
