Gar­den club com­mit­tee There is a com­mit­tee meet­ing of the Pem­brey and Burry Port Gar­den­ing Club on Mon­day 20 May in the Com­mu­nity Hall, Pem­brey, at 7pm. Lit­ter Pick The Pem­brey and Burry Port Grab and Bag vol­un­teer group will be meet­ing at Burry Port Canal at Bryny­mor Road SN 438 007 on Fri­day, May 24, from 10am un­til noon. All equip­ment is pro­vided but please be sure to bring a pair of gloves. As well as clean­ing up our lo­cal ar­eas vol­un­teers can also sign up to re­ceive time cred­its. Spring fair cof­fee evening The Ladies’ Fundrais­ing Sec­tion of Burry Port Male Choir are hold­ing their usual spring fair on Fri­day, May 24, at 6.30pm in the Me­mo­rial Hall, Parc y Mi­nos Street, Burry Port. Stalls in­clude homemade cakes, jew­ellery, bric a brac, toys, books, toi­letries, ac­ces­sories, tombola, new items and more plus raf­fles. En­trance of £2 in­cludes tea, cof­fee or squash plus the added at­trac­tion of in­for­mal en­ter­tain­ment by the Burry Port Male Choir. All prof­its to help the choir which is a reg­is­tered char­ity.

Fam­ily fun walk On Sun­day, May 26, at 2pm the Pem­brey and Burry Port Friends of Ten­ovus Can­cer Care in part­ner­ship with Pem­brey and Burry Port Town coun­cil are hold­ing their first fam­ily fun walk. Fancy dress op­tional and a prize for the best dressed adult and child. The walk is from Burry Port Har­bour to the Pavil­ion cafe Pwll and re­turn. Reg­is­tra­tion from 1pm. Singing for the Soul This is on to­day and the first and third Wednesday of the month from 2.30pm to 4.30pm in Jerusalem Chapel Vestry. All are wel­come. Group singing has a host of ben­e­fits like im­prov­ing breath­ing, pos­ture, men­tal health,con­fi­dence and self es­teem. No ex­pe­ri­ence nec­es­sary. Car boot sales These con­tinue

ev­ery Satur­day, weather per­mit­ting, at the har­bour field, Burry Port at £6 per car. Vans, cars with trail­ers, camper­van and peo­ple car­rier size cost £9. Large vans and trade sell­ers are £16. No more than two ta­bles or ad­di­tional ta­bles are £2 each. No reser­va­tion of pitches as they are on a first come first served ba­sis.Please do not set up or ar­rive be­fore 7am for the ben­e­fit of vol­un­teers and nearby houses. Please re­move all un­sold items and lit­ter be­fore you leave. Friends of Ten­ovus Can­cer Care The Pem­brey and Burry Port friends have a Meet with Us group on the first Tues­day of the month from 6.30pm to 7.30pm in Pem­brey Church Hall, Ran­dell Square, Pem­brey. Ty Go­lau group This is a health and well­be­ing group for peo­ple with slight memory prob­lems,Alzheimer’s/dementia type ill­nesses and meets ev­ery Wednesday at Myny­d­dy­gar­reg Com­mu­nity Hall from 10.30am to noon.Ac­tiv­i­ties in­clude rem­i­nis­cence ther­apy,themed quizzes, sing-alongs, sim­ple cook­ery and much more. Mon­day at 2.15pm the main monthly meet­ing is Julia Evans on Lost Em­pires. Tues­day at 10.30am is the Welsh His­tory group with Roger Price on Cam­bro-Nor­mans in Ire­land and the Short Walk group at 2pm are go­ing on a mys­tery tour.Wednesday, May 22, at 10am the Long Walk is on the Mind­ful­ness Trail. Thurs­day, May 23, the dis­cus­sion group is at 11.10am at Peter’s house sub­ject is Tech­nol­ogy Too Fast? Mon­day, May 27, the drama group and Tues­day, May 28, the Sil­ver Screen cin­ema trip are both can­celled due to the bank hol­i­day.
