Silent fireworks fun day On Sunday from 2pm to 6pm in Neptune Square. There will be lots of stalls, face painting, live music, glitter tattoos, tombola, a raffle and more. Free entry. This is a fundraiser for a silent fireworks display on November 1 so you can see what they are like.Please come and support us.

British Legion headquarte­rs The Legion building is open for bingo every Monday to Thursday, Saturday and Sunday evening. Usually at 8pm. Admission 50p. Last bingo books 7.50pm.

Litter pick The Pembrey and Burry Port Grab and Bag volunteer group will be meeting at Burry Port Canal at Brynymor Road on Friday from 10am to noon. All equipment is provided but please be sure to bring a pair of gloves. As well as cleaning up our local areas volunteers can also sign up to receive time credits. Everyone is welcome but children under 16 must be accompanie­d by an adult. Call 07971 131184 for more details. Spring fayre coffee evening The ladies’ fundraisin­g section of Burry Port Male Choir are holding their usual spring fayre on Friday at 6.30pm in the Memorial Hall, Parc y Minos Street, Burry Port. Stalls include homemade cakes, jewellery, bric-a-brac, toys, books, toiletries, accessorie­s, tombola, new items and more plus raffles. Entrance of £2 includes tea, coffee or squash plus the added attraction of informal entertainm­ent by the Burry Port Male Choir. All profits to help the choir, which is a registered charity. Family fun walk On Sunday at 2pm the Pembrey and Burry Port Friends of Tenovus Cancer Care in partnershi­p with Pembrey and Burry Port Town Council are holding their first family fun walk. Fancy dress optional and a prize for the best-dressed adult and child. The walk is from Burry Port Harbour to the Pavilion cafe, Pwll, and return. Registrati­on from 1pm. Adult £5, child £2, family ticket £12 for two adults and two children. The speaker is Sharon Thomas on Egyptian dancing to keep fit. Please bring along a sarong. The competitio­n is an interestin­g fact about Egypt. The WI meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month. New members welcome.

Free heritage tours These walking tours are every Wednesday until September 25 at 10.30am from Cafe Lolfa, Stepney Road. Enquiries to 07946 583110. Singing For the Soul This is on the first and third Wednesday of the month from 2.30pm to 4.30pm in Jerusalem Chapel Vestry. All are welcome. Group singing has a host of benefits like improving breathing, posture, mental health, confidence and self esteem. No experience necessary. Cost £3 per session to include refreshmen­ts.
