NANTGAREDIG have completed a perfect league season.

The Three West B champions made it 22 wins from 22 league matches with a 42-19 triumph at Betws in their final match of the season.

Dafydd Lewis crossed twice along with tries from Gethin Davies, Lloyd Williams and Rhydian Evans. The rest of the points came from the boot of Williams.

Nant can now look forward to Friday night’s West Wales Plate final against Trimsaran at Tycroes RFC (7pm).

Trimsaran warmed up for that with a 26-17 home win over Llandeilo in their final league of the match of the season.

Callum McCormack, Ryan Edwards, Thomas Bonnell and Kim Evans scored the Trimsaran tries, with Corey Phillips adding the extras to three of them.

The other remaining games in Three West B saw Lampeter Town beat Bynea 14-12 and Llangadog win 31-22 against New Dock Stars.

Three West A has also been wrapped up.

Laugharne, who finished third in the table, crushed lowly Pembroke Dock Quins 76-0 in their final encounter.

The only outstanding dead-rubber fixture, with Aberaeron taking on the Dock Quins, will now not be played.

Milford Haven took the title on 86 points, seven clear of Aberaeron.

Baglan have been crowned champions of Three West Central B.

The club’s first championship was finally sealed on Saturday thanks to a 35-7 home victory over Rhigos in their final match of the season.

They went into the game knowing a win was all they needed, and they got it thanks to a brace of tries from Ryan Compton and further touchdowns by Sam Owen, Luke Rees and Gavin Hooper in what was a five-star performance.

Dan Blethyn kicked two conversions and two penalties.

It was an 18th win from 22 matches this season for Baglan, who ended the campaign top of the pile on 88 points.

The title success comes three years after they also gained promotion for the first time as runners-up from Three West Central C.

“It was a great occasion for the whole club,” said head coach Ashley Davies after the win over Rhigos.

“It’s the first time the club have ever won the league and it was a good win.

“We only really had one goal at the start of the season and that was to win it.

“There’s so much talent in the squad, and after the past couple of years we felt it was the time to have a big push for the title.

“Now we’re looking forward to playing local derbies against Aberavon Green Stars, Taibach, Cwmavon and Tonmawr in Three West Central A next season.

“It will be tough, but we play a good brand of rugby and I’m sure we’ll have the same targets.”

The other promotion place is still to be confirmed despite the season having now finished.

Glyncorrwg sneaked into second place thanks to a 36-22 win at Crynant in their final game. Alan Tamlin and Joshua Thomas both crossed twice, with Steffan Williams and Daniel Richards also scoring.

Rhodri Thomas kicked three conversions.

But the situation is up in the air. Cwmllynfell would have taken the second promotion spot with a win over Pontycymer regardless of the Glyncorrwg result, but that match was postponed again last week due to Pontycymer being unable to raise a side and the matter is now in the hands of the WRU.

Pontycymer did raise a side to travel to Banwen on Saturday and were beaten 38-26.

Also celebrating are Bridgend Sports after they beat Pyle 22-9 in their winner-takes-all clash to bag the Three West Central A title.

Tries in either half from Lloyd Wilson and Liam Bevan ensured the win, with Scott Callicott kicking the rest of the points.

Pyle’s points came from the boot of Joe Gallafant.

Sports took the title with 20 wins and 96 points from their 22 matches, finishing seven clear of Pyle with both sides promoted to division two.
