Stars claim double success

HAVING gained promotion as Costcutter Football League division two champions, Dewi Stars doubled up by capturing the South Cards Cup with a 3-0 victory over New Quay at Ffostrasol.

The Seasiders gave it their best shot and played some attractive football.

But they could not match the clinical finishing of their opponents.

Leading scorer Ifan Thomas notched up his 17th goal of the term to give the Llanddewi Brefi high-flyers the lead at the break, and two second-half strikes by midfielder Oscar Cayo Evans, his second in the last minute of the game, made sure of victory.
