NEEDING three points from the last two league games to claim the LTC Mobility Carmarthenshire League division one title, Pontlliw turned on the style in winning 7-0 at Felinfoel.

Striker Adam Scott fired in a hattrick for Pontlliw. Liam McCann scored two goals, and there was one each for Danny Smale and James Howells.

Pontlliw completed their programme on a winning note, defeating Johnstown 3-1 in their away clash. Smale netted twice, and there was a goal for James Wills.

As the curtain came down on yet another season, it was announced that a new West Wales Premier League will be formed in season 2020-21.

The league will be made up of 14 clubs from the Carmarthenshire, Neath, Pembrokeshire and Swansea Senior Leagues.

Five clubs from the Carmarthenshire League have shown an interest in participating – Bwlch Rangers, Dafen, Loughor Rovers, Pontarddu lais Town and Evans & Williams. As he has now decided to hang up his boots and pen, the league’s executive committee are looking for a suitable candidate to carry on his sterling work. Applicants should send an email to league chairman Richard Barnes at [email protected] with a covering letter and an up-to-date CV. Suitable candidates should ideally have some knowledge of football administration and have IT keyboard skills and be conversant with social media and the use of apps. The closing date for applications is Saturday, June 1.
