Hot Seat
I WOULD like to congratulate Jill Evans MEP for winning her seat again for Plaid Cymru in the recent European election.
I was pleased to accept the invitation from Llanedi Community Council to attend the launch of a book on Llanedi recently. The book is called An Intriguing Community, and is a detailed history of the area by Howard and Helenor Jones.
I continue to hold meetings across my region to support the Women Against State Pension Injustice campaign, known as WASPI.
In March this year a Plaid Cymru motion was passed by AMs calling on the Welsh Government to make representations to the Westminster Government to support the women of the campaign.
I was able to quiz the Counsel General in the Senedd chamber about the action the Welsh Government has taken in relation to the issue.
I called on the Welsh Government to stand up for the women who have lost their pension money.
The Welsh economy has lost millions of pounds, because those women did not have that money to spend in their local communities.
I urge more women affected to register their complaint with the Department of Work and Pensions. Standard letters can be found at: https://www.waspicampaign2018.co.uk/
