Evans signs Knights deal

-

FORMER Llanelli wing Kyle Evans has joined English Championship side Doncaster Knights.

Evans, who was named the Principality Premiership player of the season in 2017-18, has signed for the Knights on a twoyear deal after an impressive three years with Merthyr.

The 28-year-old previously spent three seasons with Llanelli where he scored 27 tries in 57 games and earned a call-up to regional duty with Scarlets in the LV= Cup back in 2015.

The quick-footed winger also played for a year in the GK IPA Championship with Moseley before moving to Merthyr in 2016.

Clive Griffiths, Doncaster’s director of rugby, said: “When I spoke to Kyle he gave all the right signals that he really wanted to succeed with the Knights.

“His hunger for success was infectious.

“With Paul Jarvis’s departure we needed to bring in another wing and I am delighted to say we now have Kyle on board.”

Evans is set to get going at Castle Park when the Knights begin pre-season on June 11.
