Bont suffer second loss

PONTARDDUL­AIS suffered their second defeat of the season when they went down to 2017 champions Cardiff in the South Wales Premier League.

Bont went into the clash in second but have dropped to fourth as a result of their fourwicket loss.

Samuel Pearce top-scored with 61 as Pontarddul­ais were all out for 203 in 46.1 overs. Jack Butler added 46, with Gary Arrowsmith and Cameron Herring both making 24.

Osama Subhan took 5-48 for the home side.

Glamorgan opener Kiran Carlson got the home side off to a good start with a patient innings of 37 which featured four boundaries.

Mujahid Ilyas scored an unbeaten 50 and Steffan Jones struck seven fours in a quickfire 47 as Cardiff made it to their target with just three balls to spare.

Dafydd Davies, Owen Morgan and William Jones all took two wickets for Pontarddul­ais.
