Race night to keep ambulances flying

-

FFOS Las racecourse is holding a charity race night tomorrow in a bid to raise cash for Wales Air Ambulance.

There will be seven races at the Trimsaranbased racecourse with bosses hoping the event will bring people together to help fund the vital lifesaving work of Wales Air Ambulance.

People are being encouraged to get there before the first race at 5.30pm as there will be pre-race entertainment from Burry Port, Mynydd Mawr and Llanelli Choir as well as a charity mascot race. Tickets are just £15 in advance from www.ffoslasracecourse.com and will be £20 on the day – children under 17 go free. Ffos Las is also offering those in the services a ticket for free and the option to bring a friend for £5, these tickets must be collected and bought on the night on presenting a valid ID. There will be a shuttle bus from Llanelli train station to the racecourse.

Phil Bell, executive director at Ffos Las racecourse, said: “We are immensely proud to work in association with Wales Air Ambulance at this meeting.

“We’re aware that they receive no direct government funding and that they don’t qualify for National Lottery funding. So it’s down to us, the people of Wales, to give our support to keep the helicopters and their amazing staff flying.

“We hope as many people as possible will join us on Thursday to show their support for this very worthy – and vital – cause.”
