Give riders all your backing

-

THE excitement is building ahead of the Women’s Tour which will race through the county on Saturday, June 15.

This week, we heard that Carmarthen cyclist Manon Lloyd – who started track racing at Carmarthen Velodrome in her teens with Towy Riders – will be one of the competitors and we all hope that the advantage of a home crowd will help spur her on.

Many of you will have noticed the distinctive green and yellow bunting across the communities the race passes through this year, along with traffic information signage and in some places green bikes.

It’s all part of our efforts to provide a warm Welsh welcome – and you can play your part.

If you run a business or café anywhere along the route, consider dressing up the frontage as part of our competition.

If you spot a green bike, take a selfie with it and share it with us on social media to be in with a chance of winning a limited edition Women’s Tour cycle jersey.

If you want to volunteer, get in touch and offer to lend us a hand.

More importantly, we want to see everyone out in force cheering the cyclists on – it’s all part of helping create a special atmosphere here in Carmarthenshire.

If you need to know more, head to the council’s website www. carmarthenshire.gov.wales.
