TO REDUCE ALLERGENS IN YOUR KITCHEN

1 WIPE down kitchen cabinets every two to three months; inside and out, and don’t forget the top.

2 KEEP food surfaces as clean as possible to stop mould. Use water-resistant grouting for tiles.

3 WIPE food surfaces down after preparing food with a cloth dampened with kitchen cleaner.

4 OPEN windows regularly to help reduce condensati­on and to freshen the air in the kitchen when in use.

5 WASH out your fridge regularly to make sure that mould doesn’t gather in the corners.

6 CHECK food regularly and bin items that are out of date.

7 USE an extractor fan to remove excess moisture.

8C HOOSE an easy to clean floor and ensure that it fits tightly around the bases of the cabinets.
