Champs out of league

HEAVY rain meant not a ball was bowled in the latest round of All Wales Sport Midweek League matches, but the table has a new look with Llangennech replacing Dafen at the top.

The change has taken place because of the disappointing news that defending champions Felinfoel have withdrawn from the league because of a lack of players.

On a more positive note, league officials confirmed that the top four clubs at the end of the season will again qualify for the semi-final of the Bowl competition. But the team who finishes top will be declared champions, and the Bowl will be a separate competition.

Fixtures ( June 5): Ammanford v Llanelli, Gowerton v Pontarddulais, Llangennech v Dafen.
