Em­lyn build up for a busy pe­riod

EX­CITE­MENT is build­ing at Cost­cut­ter League club New­cas­tle Em­lyn FC.

Pre-sea­son train­ing is start­ing next week, there is the for­ma­tion of a youth team to look for­ward to as well as a gala din­ner to cel­e­brate the 50th an­niver­sary of the club reforming in 1969.

There was more good news for the Reds with highly-re­spected player-man­ager Owain Thomas con­firm­ing that he will again be in charge next sea­son.

He will be as­sisted by Wyn Morgan.

The club are still to ap­point a re­serve-team man­ager.

Em­lyn are form­ing an un­der-18 side for next sea­son to play in the West Wales Youth League.

Pre-sea­son train­ing at Parc Em­lyn starts next Tues­day (June 25) at 7pm when a warm wel­come will be ex­tended to old and new play­ers.

The 50th an­niver­sary events are be­ing held this Satur­day with games played dur­ing the day in­volv­ing the cur­rent se­nior squad, ju­niors and past play­ers.

At the gala din­ner in the club­house, the guest speaker is Michael Davies, a for­mer player and Aberys­t­wyth Town winger who is head­mas­ter of Ys­gol y Pre­seli in Crymych.

The MC is ra­dio personalit­y and DJ Tommo Thomas of Cardi­gan and en­ter­tain­ment is pro­vided by Colin Price.
