HILL MOVES FOR EX-REDS STARS

-

LLANELLI Town have made a double swoop as they build towards the new season.

The Reds have re-signed former players Liam Samuel and Antonio Facciuto as manager Andy Hill moulds his squad for the new FAW Championship South season.

Both played major roles in Llanelli storming to the Welsh League crown in 2018, but left Stebonheath last summer.

Samuel moved to Ammanford, with Facciuto making the switch to Haverfordwest County.

Samuel has made more than a century of appearances for Llanelli and scored more than 40 goals. A Reds statement said: “Liam has been everpresent with the Reds from division three right up to division one and only commitments ruled him out of appearing in the WPL.

“He has consistently been one of the best wingers in the Welsh League.

“The club is thrilled he has returned and he will be a massive boost to the team on and off the pitch.”

Facciuto made his Llanelli debut as far back as 2008 when he was a 17-year-old.

The statement added: “Antonio was a big part of the championshipwinning team two seasons ago and was ever-present throughout that season.”

The double signing comes hot on the heels of the highly-rated Jordan Davies pledging his future to the club.

The Reds added: “Jordan is technically one of the best players in the Welsh League and has more than 100 appearances for the Reds, making him the third most experienced player in the squad behind Chris Thomas and Lee Bevan.

“Jordan is a major part in what we have achieved and it’s great news that he’ll be spearheading our campaign again this year.”

It is yet more good news for Llanelli as they rebuild following their relegation from the Welsh Premier League.

Goalkeeper Scott Coughlan has also agreed a fresh deal, while other players to have pledged their futures to the club are Ross Jones, Anthony Finselbach, Kyle Graves, Luke Morgan, skipper Joe Clarke and defender Lee Bevan.
