Im­pres­sive Llan storm clear at top

LLANGENNEC­H have taken a com­mand­ing lead at the top of the All Wales Sport Mid­week League.

They are now 31 points clear of the field af­ter they were suc­cess­ful in the only game played last week as the fix­ture sched­ule was ru­ined by the weather.

Llangennec­h claimed a ninewicket win against Llanelli at Stradey Park. They suc­cess­fully chased the home side’s to­tal of 117-7 off 20 overs, with James Taube smash­ing six con­sec­u­tive sixes in a bril­liant 89.

His knock in­cluded nine max­i­mums as Llangennec­h reached their tar­get in just nine overs.

For Llanelli, El­lis Richards made 59. He struck three sixes and six bound­aries and he re­ceived good sup­port from Morgan Jones, who hit four fours in an in­nings of 29.

Llangennec­h’s Jack Williams re­turned fig­ures of 3-34.
