Hatley stars for seconds

LLANDYSUL Seconds returned to form with a nine-wicket win over visitors Llandarcy to maintain their title challenge in division five of the South Wales Cricket Association.

Llandarcy lost early wickets and it was left to wicketkeeper and middle-order batsman Tommy Pickford (27) and last pair Josef Davey (27 not out) and Darren Haste (17 not out) to steady the ship.

Dafydd Hatley returned figures of 4-14 in eight overs.

As the Teifi Valley villagers went for the runs, Gareth Chapple scored 43, a knock which included five fours, and skipper Huw Evans was unbeaten on 44 as the target was reached in 34 overs.
