CHAMPION JOHNSON’S TRIBUTE

RICHARD Johnson is among those to hail the impact of Ffos Las as the course builds towards its 10th birthday.

The four-time champion jockey has ridden more winners at the course than anyone else. He stands on 58, with Sam TwistonDavies close behind on 51.

Johnson said: “I can’t believe it’s been 10 years already.

“I remember when it first opened, and I have enjoyed riding there ever since. It has been a great addition to the racecourses in the UK, it has fantastic facilities and always a good atmosphere.

“It’s a big galloping track – I see it as the Newbury of Wales. I have enjoyed some great wins there over the last 10 years and look forward to hopefully being there on Thursday and adding to those wins.”
