Felin­foel to face derby opener in hat-trick bid

FELIN­FOEL’S quest for a hat­trick of ti­tles in Specsavers One West be­gins at home against lo­cal ri­vals Hendy.

The two Llanelli sides face each other on Satur­day, Septem­ber 7.

Felin­foel will start the sea­son with some­thing to prove, hav­ing twice been de­nied a place in the Cham­pi­onship in suc­ces­sive years by play-off de­feats.

The sec­ond of those de­feats came in May when they were edged out by Ystalyfera.

Pen­clawdd host Llanelli Wan­der­ers in their first out­ing since pro­mo­tion.

New­cas­tle Em­lyn re­turn to One West for the first time since they won the ti­tle in 2015. Their four-sea­son stint in the Cham­pi­onship came to an end last sea­son and they launch their cam­paign at Gor­seinon.

In other matches, Crymych host Llan­gen­nech and Whit­land en­ter­tain Gow­er­ton.

In the Cham­pi­onship, Nar­berth start their sea­son with a trip to Port Tal­bot to face Tata Steel. Their next league game is a home clash with Tre­banos and they end the month at Ystrad Rhondda.

There will be a new cham­pion in One West Cen­tral af­ter Ystalyfera earned their ticket into the Cham­pi­onship for the first time.

Am­man­ford may fancy their chances of up­set­ting pre-sea­son ti­tle favourites Bony­maen and get their sea­son un­der way with a trip to Brid­gend Ath­letic. Bry­na­man host Skewen.

Mean­while, Nant­garedig face a new chal­lenge this sea­son fol­low­ing their el­e­va­tion into Two West.

Nant were im­pe­ri­ous last sea­son, storm­ing to the Three West B ti­tle with some­thing to spare by win­ning all 22 of their league games.

They open this sea­son with a home game against Tenby United.

Else­where in the di­vi­sion, Car­marthen Ath­letic make the short trip to Burry Port and Kid­welly en­ter­tain Fish­guard.

Pon­tard­du­lais head west to face Mil­ford Haven and Pon­ty­berem go to Mum­bles. Ty­croes en­ter­tain Loughor.

Am­man United, free of the chal­lenge of Nant­garedig this term, are the early favourites for the Three West B crown. They get their cam­paign un­der way with a home game against Llan­gadog.

Trim­saran host Cefnei­thin in a Gwen­draeth Val­ley derby and Bynea play host to Fur­nace United.

Other games see New Dock Stars head to Llan­deilo, Peny­groes host Llandy­bie and Tum­ble take on Betws.
