Har­ries is bat­ting ace

A SU­PERB un­beaten cen­tury by opener Rhy­dian Har­ries en­abled Llandy­sul to claim a 29-run win over vis­i­tors Maesteg Celtic and lift them into fourth in di­vi­sion one of the South Wales Cricket As­so­ci­a­tion.

Hav­ing first use of a flat TirDref track, Llandy­sul went along mer­rily with classy for­mer Am­man­ford star Har­ries dis­patch­ing the ball to all points of the com­pass and end­ing un­beaten on 116, an in­nings that in­cluded seven bound­aries.

He was given great sup­port by Gary Wil­liams (52) as they shared an open­ing stand of 153 and Llandy­sul posted 234-4 in 50 overs to pick up 19 points.

Vis­it­ing opener Nick Poole was also in great form as he made 85 to hold the in­nings to­gether be­fore be­ing caught by Ash­ley Cox off Ieuan Paske.

Ian Her­bert con­tributed 33 as the in­nings closed on 205-8.

Llandy­sul Sec­onds lead di­vi­sion five af­ter a three-wicket win at lowly Felin­foel Sec­onds.

The Llanelli side made 172-4 in 40 overs with Stu­art Par­menter mak­ing 57. He was well sup­ported by James Cran­ham who was un­beaten on 54.

The vis­i­tors reached the tar­get in the 34th over to bank 17 points. Dafydd Jones made 40, Chris Jones 38 and Joseph Swift 31.
