On Parc Howard Museum and air pollution

-

I RECENTLY visited Llanelli’s Parc Howard Museum.

It was lovely to meet up with Friends of the Museum that I have had the pleasure to work with over the years.

They flew the flag to keep the museum going.

Well done to all the volunteers that have improved and kept the heritage of our area alive.

It is pleasing now to see the renewed commitment of Plaid Cymru-led Carmarthenshire Council to the museum.

Councillor Peter Hughes Griffiths, executive board member for culture, sport and tourism is backing a long-term future for the museum.

The team have some exciting projects planned around community engagement and are doing a consultation now on what happens next to the museum.

I would encourage people to get involved in a discussion on this wonderful community resource.

Last Thursday Clean Air Day.

Plaid Cymru called on the Welsh Government to bring forward a strategy to clean up our toxic air.

The Welsh Government has to encourage the use of low-emission cars instead of more polluting vehicles and allow pollution-monitoring equipment outside of schools and hospitals.

The air we breathe on the way to work, school, and in our neighbourhoods sometimes has illewas gal levels of pollution so we must act on this important public health issue. If you have any local concerns please get in touch.

Last week I quizzed the Welsh Government on their actions in support of the Women Against State Pension Injustice campaign, known as WASPI.

Jane Jones is trying to set up a Llanelli campaign group.

If you are a woman born in the 1950s affected in the area get in touch with her on janejones4@yahoo. co.uk or phone my office on 0300 200 7190 and I’ll pass the details on.
