Felinfoel to face derby opener in hat-trick bid

-

FELINFOEL’S quest for a hattrick of titles in Specsavers One West begins at home against local rivals Hendy.

The two Llanelli sides face each other on Saturday, September 7.

Felinfoel will start the season with something to prove, having twice been denied a place in the Championship in successive years by play-off defeats.

The second of those defeats came in May when they were edged out by Ystalyfera.

Penclawdd host Llanelli Wanderers in their first outing since promotion.

Newcastle Emlyn return to One West for the first time since they won the title in 2015. Their four-season stint in the Championship came to an end last season and they launch their campaign at Gorseinon.

In other matches, Crymych host Llangennech and Whitland entertain Gowerton.

In the Championship, Narberth start their season with a trip to Port Talbot to face Tata Steel. Their next league game is a home clash with Trebanos and they end the month at Ystrad Rhondda.

There will be a new champion in One West Central after Ystalyfera earned their ticket into the Championship for the first time.

Ammanford may fancy their chances of upsetting pre-season title favourites Bonymaen and get their season under way with a trip to Bridgend Athletic. Brynaman host Skewen.

Meanwhile, Nantgaredig face a new challenge this season following their elevation into Two West.

Nant were imperious last season, storming to the Three West B title with something to spare by winning all 22 of their league games.

They open this season with a home game against Tenby United.

Elsewhere in the division, Carmarthen Athletic make the short trip to Burry Port and Kidwelly entertain Fishguard.

Pontarddulais head west to face Milford Haven and Pontyberem go to Mumbles. Tycroes entertain Loughor.

Amman United, free of the challenge of Nantgaredig this term, are the early favourites for the Three West B crown. They get their campaign under way with a home game against Llangadog.

Trimsaran host Cefneithin in a Gwendraeth Valley derby and Bynea play host to Furnace United.

Other games see New Dock Stars head to Llandeilo, Penygroes host Llandybie and Tumble take on Betws.
