Young stars agree deals
LLANELLI Town will face two Welsh Premier League sides as they prepare for the new season.
Andy Hill’s side have arranged five pre-season matches as they look to hit the ground running in the new FAW Championship South.
The two top-flight sides they will face are Carmarthen Town and Barry Town United.
The Reds visit Carmarthen on Wednesday, July 24, then make the trip to Barry the following Saturday.
The opening pre-season clash is against near neighbours Garden Village on Friday, July 12. That game at Stebonheath gets under way at 7pm.
There is another home clash on July 17 when Port Talbot Town – who Llanelli will face in the revamped league – make the trip west.
The final friendly comes on Wednesday, July 31, when Llanelli head to Pontardawe Town.
Meanwhile, four of last season’s development team are to sign first-team deals with Llanelli.
Midfielders Lenny Evans and Joe Dyer featured regularly in the Welsh Premier League last term, while defender Callum Howard, who has earned rave reviews with the under-19 side, is another predicted to have a big future.
Goalkeeper Kai Rees, who made his debut for the first team against Yeovil Town two seasons ago, is the fourth player to sign papers.
