THE Welsh Athletics Junior Track and Field Championships in Wrexham saw a total of 13 medals return to Carmarthenshire.

The event attracted athletes of all ages from a number of clubs, led by a large contingent from the North region as well as those from the South, East and West Wales who made the 250-mile round trip to North East Wales.

Eleven of them went to Carmarthen Harriers athletes, with personal bests galore recorded on the track and in the field.

There were some impressive individual performances in the sprints and middle-distance races in particular, with the majority of first, second and third positions coming in these disciplines.
