Friends’ jour­ney to suc­cess

TWO friends have grad­u­ated from the Univer­sity of Wales Trin­ity Saint David fol­low­ing a trans­for­ma­tional jour­ney that took them from un­der­grad­u­ate teach­ing assistants to mas­ter’s grad­u­ates.

Anna Mur­phy, 44, and Lianne Bowen, 35, from Pon­ty­berem, orig­i­nally joined the univer­sity on a foundation de­gree for teach­ing assistants and then com­pleted a BA top up, study­ing part time, be­fore mov­ing on to com­plete mas­ter’s de­grees in Eq­uity and Di­ver­sity.

Both worked as teach­ing assistants through­out their studies and credit each other with pro­vid­ing the sup­port and en­cour­age­ment to qual­i­fi­ca­tions while also hold­ing down jobs.

Jacques Mahe has grad­u­ated with a BA de­gree in Ed­u­ca­tion Studies: Pri­mary from the Univer­sity of Wales Trin­ity Saint David (UWTSD).

Jacques stud­ied his course through the medium of Welsh at UWTSD’s Car­marthen cam­pus. Jacques cur­rently fea­tures in an S4C on­line se­ries called Hansh.
