Dda Health Char­i­ties bags a mas­sive cash boost from the Tesco Bags of Help ini­tia­tive.

Bryn­go­lau Ward at Prince Philip Hospital, which cares for pa­tients with De­men­tia, Alzheimer’s and adult men­tal health has re­ceived a £4,000 top prize cash award from the Tesco com­mu­nity fund­ing scheme Bags of Help.

Shop­pers at Tesco Parc Trostre, Llanelli, voted for Bryn­go­lau Ward and the money will go to­wards up­dat­ing the gar­dens to a sen­sory and de­men­tia friendly gar­den.

Richard Williams, Bryn­go­lau Ward said: “Bryn­go­lau Ward is an Older Adult Men­tal Health ward based in Prince Philip Hospital. Pa­tients who are ad­mit­ted to the ward of­ten spend sev­eral months with us, and ac­cess­ing the out­doors can be challengin­g dur­ing this time.

“We are de­lighted to have been suc­cess­ful in be­ing awarded the grant from Tesco to­wards our gar­den im­prove­ment project for the ward. The money will go to­wards making the gar­den a safe and stim­u­lat­ing space for our patient’s to spend time. Thank you very much Tesco and everyone who voted for us.”
