Men in court over alleged attack on disabled man

TWO men have appeared in court following an alleged attack on a disabled man at Ammanford Bus Station.

Hefin Parker, 21, of Heol y Parc, Cefneithin and Elis Kelman, 19, of Bank Road, Llangennech, both appeared at Llanelli Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Parker was arrested and was charged with actual bodily harm after a video circulated on social media showing a man being punched on Tuesday.

Kelman was charged with encouraging and assisting in the commission of the same alleged assault. His charge relates to the video recording. The video, initially shared on Snapchat, later came to the attention of police.

The court was told that the alleged victim has a learning disability, has communication issues and mental health problems.

Neither defendants entered a plea during the hearing, which was then adjourned.

Parker was remanded in custody, while Kelman was released on bail. The case will resume at Swansea Crown Court on August 5.
