Dda Health Charities bags a massive cash boost from the Tesco Bags of Help initiative.

Bryngolau Ward at Prince Philip Hospital, which cares for patients with Dementia, Alzheimer’s and adult mental health has received a £4,000 top prize cash award from the Tesco community funding scheme Bags of Help.

Shoppers at Tesco Parc Trostre, Llanelli, voted for Bryngolau Ward and the money will go towards updating the gardens to a sensory and dementia friendly garden.

Richard Williams, Bryngolau Ward said: “Bryngolau Ward is an Older Adult Mental Health ward based in Prince Philip Hospital. Patients who are admitted to the ward often spend several months with us, and accessing the outdoors can be challenging during this time.

“We are delighted to have been successful in being awarded the grant from Tesco towards our garden improvement project for the ward. The money will go towards making the garden a safe and stimulating space for our patient’s to spend time. Thank you very much Tesco and everyone who voted for us.”
