Senior Citizens The Senior Citizens Over 50 Social Club held their July meeting on Wednesday, July 3 at Mynyddygarreg Welfare Hall. There were 25 members present including the chairperson, Jean Fox, vice-chairperson, Marian Lewis, the treasurer, Christine Hughes and the secretary, Regina Morgan. Mrs Fox opened the meeting when we all read the Lord’s Prayer and welcomed everyone to the meeting. Mrs Morgan then read the minutes of the June meeting which were passed. A warm welcome was extended to a new member, Catherine Humphreys. It was noted that we had two very important police officers last month who gave us all an important way to deal with scam telephone calls. It was to always put the phone down if you don’t know the caller. Many blankets were made and now a total of 70 blankets have been donated to hospitals, homes, etc. If anyone has some unwanted wool, please bring it to the meeting to be donated. A very successful coffee morning was held on June 21. Thank you for all donations and help given on the day.

Bingo Come and enjoy a night of bingo at Clwb Rygbi Mynyddygarreg on Wednesdays at 7pm with good company. The caller is Fred Smith, Horeb Road, a life member of the club.
