Hill looks to Logan in a bid for extra firepower

-

LLANELLI Town have signed one of the most prolific strikers in West Wales.

The Reds have added Nathan Logan to their ranks as they continue their preparations for the new FAW Championship South campaign.

Logan’s thirst for goals has been a feature of Gorseinon Athletic’s rise to prominence in the Carmarthenshire League over the past few seasons.

And while a move up several rungs of the Welsh football ladder obviously represents a challenge, Llanelli boss Andy Hill has been impressed with the 27-year-old in pre-season training and believes Logan can take the step up in class in his stride.

He said: “Nathan scores goals everywhere he goes. It doesn’t matter what level, he’s got that instinct.”

Logan is the latest arrival at Stebonheath as Hill puts together a new-look squad following last season’s relegation from the Welsh Premier League.

Liam Samuel has returned to the club following a spell with Ammanford, while Antonio Facciuto is back after a year with Haverfordwest.

A number of first-team regulars have also signed new deals, including skipper Joe Clarke, experienced defender Lee Bevan and promising goalkeeper Scott Coughlan.

The Reds open their preseason campaign on Friday at home to Garden Village (7pm) and then entertain Port Talbot Town next Wednesday (7pm).

Gorseinon have filled the void left by Logan’s departure with the signing of former Trefelin BGC striker Tom Blackburn.

He has operated in the Welsh League for the past couple of seasons but before that was one of the most dangerous attackers in the Swansea Senior League, and his goals guided CRC Rangers to the West Wales Cup final in 2017.
