Cwm claim friendly win

CWMAMMAN United claimed a 2-0 win over Garden Village in a pre-season clash.

Cwm enjoyed the early pressure, but in the 14th minute Village had a chance from five yards out that slipped past the post of keeper James Kirkwood.

Then strong defence from Gareth Howarth, Rob Jones and Keena Hinds stopped Village striker Breig Matthews from finishing off a good chance.

Cwm went close as a free-kick from Chris Allen hit the bar.

The deadlock was broken in the 40th minute when experienced Blues frontman Chris Allen finished clinically.

Midfielder Gareth Phillips scored the second goal for Cwmamman with a smart finish.

Cwm’s next game is against CRC Rangers on Friday evening.
