Wild Thing, you made Ash’s hearts sing
TWOTIME Major winner Jon Daly has visited Ashburnham Golf Club to mark the club’s 125th anniversary.
The man nicknamed Wild Thing entertained the crowds in his own unique way as he played an exhibition match at the Llanelli links.
Daly, who won the 1991 PGA Championship and the Open four years later, wowed the locals with some extraordinary ball striking. He then took part in a Q&A before joining in with local band The Lost Comets on lead guitar and sang a few songs.
Daly was very complimentary of Ashburnham, saying: “I loved it and the back-nine layout was awesome.”
Club captain Ian Thomas, who played with Daly, said: “The occasion was truly memorable and a fitting way to commemorate the club’s 125th anniversary.” John Daly tees off at Ashburnham.
