WELSH RIVALS CLASH IN FRIENDLY

Llanelli Star - - RUGBY -

THE Dragons will entertain the Scarlets in a pre-season Welsh derby in preparation for the forthcoming campaign.

In a rare twist, two Welsh regions will lock horns in a ‘friendly’ as new bosses Dean Ryan (Dragons) and Brad Mooar (Scarlets) get to grips with their squads.

Both teams will be without their internationals as the game is scheduled to take place on September 14, three days after Warren Gatland’s side jet off to the Rugby World Cup.

The two sides last clashed on Judgement Day, when the Dragons stunned the men from the west in a rip-roaring 34-32 victory at the Principality Stadium.

The kick-off time is yet to be confirmed.

It will be Mooar’s second glimpse of his new charges after their trip to face English Championship side Jersey on September 7.
