Saints claim Jimmy’s cup

-

COSTCUTTER Football League champions St Dogmaels came out on top in the 10th annual Jimmy James 7-a-side Memorial Tournament.

At the semi-final stage Cardigan Town emerged 1-0 winners over St Dogmaels Youth and St Dogmaels went through after a golden goal netted by Louis Harding.

An entertaining final saw the Saints on top for most of the game and they led via a Rhys Jones strike until the final moments when the Magpies equalised through Liam Doherty, who was a regular for Penrhyncoch in the Cymru Alliance League last term.

Substitute Craig Williams became the hero for Saints when working a one-two with Adam Williams and finding the back of the net for the golden goal winner.

Jimmy James’s brother Justin presented the memorial trophy and individual medals.

Referees for the tournament were Dai Morris, Josh Townsend and John Rees, with John Walters the MC.
