Your views on: Post Office branch closure

THE Post Office announced plans to close a branch in Llanelli. Mail firm bosses have launched a six-week consultation to close the branch at John Street – which they said was not being used enough. Here are your views:

Unfortunately this is a sign of the fast moving pace of change that has been happening over recent years. More services that the post office used to provide are more and more available online, which people seem to find more convenient. I have not used a post office for a long time. Car tax, banking, postage and parcels are all available online, and competitors like Hermes are offering more affordable options and are located in convenient drop off locations. I genuinely feel for the people that are still not confident or have the means to access the internet, but these are becoming a smaller minority of people.

It’s a shame it’s closing. I honestly thought with all the internet buying and selling the post office would be the last place to close.
