Abba night On Saturday, October 19, the London West End Denmark Street Band and singers return to Pontyberem Hall to render the hits of Abba. Tickets for table seating £20 per person, gallery seating at £10 per person. Show starts 7.30pm followed by a disco until late. Early booking advised. A GROUP of cycling fundraiser­s based at a Llanelli restaurant have raised more than £1,300 for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The riders from the Sandpiper cycled 13km and raised £1,334.50 which takes their total raised to £2,743 in the past four months.

The group hopes to raise £4,000 by next February by doing different activities and hope to raise awarenes. The cyclists were Jessica Pratt (organiser), Jonathan Haines, Hollie Jenkins, Hayley Baumber, Peter Barone-Harris Sophie Meyrick, Sophie Stevens, Christophe­r Hurley, Valerie Millard and Alan Baumber.

Age Cymru Keep Fit This new keep-fit class for people 50+has started at the Pensioners’ Annexe, Memorial Hall, and is on every Thursday from 10am to 11am. Volunteers needed Age Cymru Sir Gâr is looking for volunteers to help older people stay warm and save energy by installing radiator reflectors, nightlight­s, energysavi­ng lightbulbs and timer sockets in their homes. Why not make a difference and make someone feel more independen­t in their own home? Volunteeri­ng is flexible, giving up one hour a week or one day a week, you still make a difference.
