Club hopeful of a double celebration

-

A FULL day of events is being lined up to mark the 40th anniversary of Llechryd Cricket Club — and the celebrations could be extra special if the club gain promotion to division one of the Pembroke County Cricket League.

When the club reached the top tier in 1995, Steve Curran was captain.

And 24 years later, his 23-year-old son John is skipper and on the verge of emulating his dad.

A special day is planned for Saturday, September 14, at the clubhouse and in a marquee at the RDM Oval ground.

The celebrations will include a junior day, entertainment provided by the JO90 band, auction, raffle and a two-course meal.

Tickets are available at £25 or a table of 10 at £250.

Anyone interested is asked to contact skipper Curran or any club member.
