Crwbin Silver Band Rehearsals each Tuesday from 7pm to 9pm and each Sunday from 6pm to 8pm in the Crwbin Band Room. Yoga Club Participants meet in the Memorial Hall each Thursday; first session from 10.30am; second session from 11.45am.
Food item donations To assist local residents in need of support a food donations bank has been placed in the foyer of the Memorial Hall. Contributions gratefully received during opening hours.

Schools achieve platinum status once they have been awarded the Green Flag four times – demonstrating their longterm commitment to environmental education, student involvement and sustainability.
Platinum schools are ranked amongst the best in the world on the EcoSchools programme.
Acting head teacher Rebecca Nia Griffiths was delighted with the result, as it was yet another way of celebrating the school’s success in the community.
Bethan Rolland, Eco Governor, worked closely with the eco council, pupils, staff and eco coordinator Della Owen to achieve the award.

There are classes for experts and novices in vegetables, flowers, fruit, wines, handicraft, floral art, photography, cookery, preserves, art and children’s classes. Registration for entries is on Friday, August 16 from 6pm to 8pm or the morning of the show from 8.30am to 10.30am.Registration will close promptly to enable judging to begin on time. There will be a shop selling plants, produce and books, refreshments and a raffle. Prizes and raffle winners are announced at approximately 4pm. Probus Club The Burry Port and Pembrey club met recently.The guest speaker was Loveleen Browes. As a qualified dispensing optician specialising in contact lenses she gave a most interesting talk on the eye. She offers acute eyecare services for low vision, dry eye and contact lens clinics as well as regular eye tests. Over the past two years she has been studying therapeutics. This higher qualification will allow her to prescribe independantly ocular medication. A vote of thanks was given by John Prickett. In July
