Bont suffer heavy loss

PONTARDDUL­AIS dropped to sixth in the South Wales Premier League after they went down by 144 runs at home to Cardiff.

As a result the 2017 champions have given themselves a chance of regaining the title.

Captain Greg Holmes led by example, hitting 93 out of their 284-5.

Prem Sisodiya (79) and Umar Malik (55) also got runs.

Bont were then sent back for 140 in 43.2 overs in reply, with Sisodiya and Osama Subhan picking up three wickets apiece.

Paul Rees, Cameron Herring and Alex Thomas all scored 28, but Iestyn Rees with 12 was the only other in double figures.

Bont make the short trip to Clydach on Saturday.
