READY, LAYER ONE?

BY THE time you read this, Love Island 2019 will be over.

I know I said I wasn’t going to watch it anymore. I lied, the lure was too much.

In preparatio­n for the 9-10pm gap in my life I have lined up the second series of Big Little Lies, the brilliant California­set drama starring Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoo­n.

Whether I get through it all by the end of August depends on the weather. If we are blessed with a glorious month then all TV will be shelved until autumn.
